Living in Sault Ste. Marie means that we don’t have an International Airport nearby. We do have a small local airport but all flights connect to Toronto so we oftentimes find ourselves staying overnight near Pearson International Airport while waiting for a connecting flight. On one such trips we had the pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Toronto Airport hotel.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Toronto Airport is newly renovated and conveniently located just 3 km from Pearson International Airport. With 11 floors, 120 guest rooms and suites, the Fairfield boasts a 24-hour airport shuttle service, indoor pool with hot tub, and an onsite restaurant and bar.

The Guest Room

We had an enjoyable overnight stay at the Fairfield Inn and found the hotel to have great value for the price. Our room was very spacious with two queen beds and a pull-out sofa.

The room came equipped with a microwave, small fridge, and coffee machine. The restroom had a full tub and shower combo and was stocked with a variety of bath products including shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, makeup remover and mouthwash.

When you first walk into the Fairfield Inn & Suites Toronto Airport you will see a large spacious lobby. Here you will find ample seating for guest waiting for the airport shuttle.

The Lobby & Hotel Amenities

In this area you will also find the Fairfield’s Corner Market where you can purchase snacks, drinks and travel items. There is also a business center where you can check emails or print your airline boarding passes.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites also has a small workout room with several treadmills and an elliptical machine. This is located right next to the indoor pool and hot tub.

The pool and hot tub are fantastic, however we do have one small complaint. There are large windows on one end of the room facing out to a side road, which leads to the parking area. It would be better to have this curtained off so that people can’t look in at guests. As a result, we didn’t actually use the pool or hot tub. It just felt too exposed.

On-site Restaurant

One attribute we always search for when looking for a hotel near the Toronto International Airport is an on-site restaurant. Commuting to a destination can be exhausting so having the option to eat without having to leave the hotel is great! The Fairfield Inn’s restaurant offers a good selection of food at a decent price for the location. Be prepared for the evenings to be busy. We stayed on a weeknight and the restaurant was consistently packed. Some of the neighbouring hotels don’t have restaurants so it’s likely that some of their guests walk over to eat. The Fairfield Inn & Suites Toronto Airport is a great place to stay while waiting overnight for a connecting flight. The hotel staff are polite, friendly and courteous, the location is convenient and the 24-hour shuttle service takes the hassle out of getting to the airport!
